The book launch ceremony of “I dream of rain” was held today at the Pakistan House, Abu Dhabi. The book is the debut novel of Mr. Muhammad Ali Bandial, a young Pakistani author and selected for Emirates Literature Festival 2023.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi , Ambassador of Pakistan to UAE, appreciated the author for his creative writing and said that Pakistan has rich literature in National and regional languages of the country.
“It is heartening to note that English Language literature is also being produced by Pakistani authors and is being appreciated all over the world. While we are strong in our national and regional language literature, English language ensures wider reach”, Ambassador added.

“Prose and poetry is an effective medium to share and live your culture and traditions with rest of the world. Pakistan’s cultural history is more than 7,000 years old. The land has hosted Indus Civilization and Gandhara Civilization. The land is home to Moen-jo-Daro and Harappa Civilizations, Buddhist monastery Takht-i-Bahi, Mughal Gems like Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort. Five of the world’s over 8000 meters peak are in Pakistan. There are over 70 languages spoken in the country. These languages carry with them a treasure of literary masterpieces. I encourage young writers to take inspiration from this rich historic and cultural traditions and preserve them through your writing”, said Ambassador Tirmizi.
The event was attended by Ambassadors and diplomats, members of business and media community in large numbers.
